Far-Flung Productions

We will turn your dream into an engaging, captivating production.

We have a wealth of practical knowledge and experience filming in remote, often challenging environments. You know: the hot, wet, buggy, sandy, full of scary creatures, and/or electrically challenged parts of the globe. This means we are able to “get the shot”, whether it is underwater with Great Whites, on the lava flows, or on that Far-Flung island of the Pacific.

We are actually demented enough to be excited to work in such demanding conditions. We think it’s fun.

And, we know how to keep our equipment, ourselves and our crews up and running in those sizzling, steamy, creepy-crawly, sometimes full of bureaucratic red tape, locations.

Perry Armor began his career as an underwater cameraman due to his extensive experience with and love of the ocean environment. Certified as a diver since 1976, he has logged over 3,000 dives throughout his career, which includes SCUBA Instructor ratings, as well as training in Cave and Mixed Gas Diving.

Perry began working as a freelance Underwater Cameraman in 1999. His work has appeared on most of the national cable TV channels and local and network television, and he has expanded his video production capabilities branching out into travel, environmental, and cultural documentary filmmaking.

Toni Barnhart took up photography full time in 2000, emphasizing the underwater world as well as terrestrial animals and birds.

Toni works with her husband Perry in underwater film production since they began the company in 1999. Toni is a certified SCUBA Instructor, and a Cave and Mixed Gas Diver. Far Flung productions currently makes use of her talent in writing and her organizational skills: from initial budgeting, project conceptualization and scripting, through post production.

Perry and Toni live in Hilo, Hawaii with two Bearded Collies, a Greenwing Macaw, and a Siamese cat.

The Far-Flung team has been involved in all aspects of television production, and our work as camera crew, post-production, or on-screen talent has been featured internationally (BBC, Discovery Networks) as well as nationally (cable TV: the History Channel, Outdoor Life Network, MTV, the Travel Channel, Fox Networks, the Weather Channel, Animal Planet, and more).

Our underwater stock footage has been featured in many television programs and commercials internationally, and we have produced promotional videos for several organizations, museums, and libraries.
